棕刚玉，是以铝矾土、焦碳（无烟煤）为主要原料，在电弧炉中经过融化还原而制得的棕褐色人造刚玉。刚玉主要化学成份是 AL2O3，另含有少量的Fe，Si，Ti等。棕刚玉是最基本的磨料，因其磨削性能好，适用范围广，价格便宜，被广泛应用,也可制造高级耐火材料。

Brown fused alumina is a kind of brown artificial corundum made from bauxite and coke (anthracite), which is melted and restored in an electric arc furnace. The main chemical composition of corundum is AL2O3, and it also contains a small amount of Fe, Si, Ti and other elements. Brown fused alumina is the most basic abrasive. Due to its good grinding performance, wide applications, cheap price, it is widely used in the reality and can be made of high-quality refractories.
